In sweltering Cork, Munster took the lead through a touchdown from Scott Buckley that Tony Butler added the extra point. Leinster, though, rallied with 26 unanswered points to take a 7-26 lead into halftime.

Diarmuid Mangan’s score and Charlie Tector’s conversion brought Leinster’s advantage to 7-33, although the second half was considerably closer.

Stephen Kiely, a debutant for Munster, did manage to score a well-executed try in response, but it was too little, too late as Leinster went on to win. Munster rugby game on TV – Fixtures and Stream Today

Munster’s next pre-season match is away to Connacht on Friday, September 22.

Munster are then back at Thomond Park for the visit of the Barbarians in a double-header with the Women’s team on Saturday, September 30. Buy tickets here.

Munster v Leinster

Leinster were offside from their own clearing kick when Munster kicked off into the Sunday’s Well end, and they soon won a penalty. After two minutes of play, Scott Buckley crossed for the game’s first try after Tony Butler placed the ball into the corner.

Munster started up with a 7-0 lead as Butler successfully converted from the touchline.

Leinster received a lineout more than 10 meters away from the Munster line as a result of many penalty concessions from Munster. While Leinster made progress through the stages before Jason Jenkins crashed over for a score, Munster did well to halt the maul. With a little under 10 minutes remaining, Ciarán Frawley scored a conversion to tie the score.
