What time will State of Origin Game 1 actually start?
Game 1 of the 2023 State of Origin series between the NSW Blues vs Queensland Maroons is scheduled to kick off at 8:10pm AEST in Sydney on Wednesday, June 8.
In recent years the actual kick-off has been reasonably close to the scheduled time. However, before that it was a long-running joke about how much the scheduled kick-off was dragged out, presumably to get more advertising spots in for Channel Nine before the game.
Last year Game 1 kick-off was scheduled for 8:10pm and it started at 8:11pm while game two was scheduled for 7:50pm and kicked off at 7:54pm.
