Rebels v Western Force Preview
Last Saturday, both of these teams performed poorly at home and lost badly. It’s hard to tell where they stand because of this, but in recent seasons, the Force has performed horribly away from home. In Melbourne, I am betting on the Rebels to cover the -6 handicap.
- The Rebels have defeated the Western Force in two of their previous three games.
- In their previous eight Super Rugby away games, Western Force has lost.
- Western Force has lost their last eight away games by an average of 45 points.
Rebels vs Western Force Head to Head
The Rebels have won two of their last three games against the Western Force. On home turf, the Rebels prevailed 52–14 in their most recent meeting.
The Rebels had a disastrous start to the season last Saturday, losing 30-3 at home to the Brumbies.
The Rebels forwards found it difficult to get into the game as the visitors took control early on. The Brumbies, who are renowned for controlling the game up front, succeeded in doing so and maintained their defensive position despite all the Rebels threw at them.
On Saturday, the Crusaders will play the Waratahs, while the Fijian Drua will play Moana Pasifika in the battle of the expansion teams.
A doubleheader of trans-Tasman rugby action takes place on Sunday. The Queensland Reds and Hurricanes will play to round up the round, while the ACT Brumbies take on the Chiefs.
