Following back-to-back victories in Australia, the Springboks are atop the standings having gone undefeated in the first three rounds of play. At Ellis Park, they overcame a formidable 31–27 deficit to defeat their fiercest opponents.

In the meantime, a last-minute penalty in Buenos Aires allowed Joe Schmidt’s Wallabies to upset Argentina 20-19 and record their first victory of the championship. They are still at the bottom of the table after the victory, but if they win back-to-back in South America, they can pass Los Pumas.

Australia Wallabies Rugby Championship history

Australia has only won the Rugby Championship once, in 2015, since its inception in 2012. For the first time, they were undefeated, however the campaign was cut short to just three games in anticipation of the 2015 World Cup.

Since then, Australia has only twice—including in the previous year’s competition—come close to taking home the wooden spoon. Australia lost all three of its games, including a 31-point thrashing at the hands of New Zealand and a loss at home to Argentina, even though the 2023 tournament was similarly abbreviated owing to the World Cup.

It all makes for another tantalising weekend of action in the Rugby Championship and here is all you need to know as far as broadcasting, kick-off times and match officials are concerned.
