For those who live in Sydney, the weekend’s athletic events were difficult. Australia was defeated in a Bledisloe Cup Test, while the Sydney Swans, who were favoured to win the AFL Grand Final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, lost by a huge margin.
The Sydney Swans faced the Brisbane Lions on the hallowed grounds of the MCG some two hours before to the Wallabies vs All Blacks match of the previous Saturday. However, the Lions gained a commanding lead halfway through the game, and the premiership was all but settled.
Brisbane ended up smashing home by a massive 120-60 score. That left the fervent supporters wondering where it had all gone wrong as they watched their side battle for gold on the Sydney Cricket Ground’s big screen.

However, the All Blacks led at halftime with to goals from Sevu Reece, Will Jordan, and Caleb Clarke later in the half. The hosts put on a strong second-half display and the Wallabies were unable to score any more points.
