Leinster defeated Munster 12-33 in Musgrave Park’s first preseason game of the 2023–24 season for the southern province.
In sweltering Cork, Munster took the lead through a touchdown from Scott Buckley that Tony Butler added the extra point. Leinster, though, rallied with 26 unanswered points to take a 7-26 lead into halftime.
Diarmuid Mangan’s score and Charlie Tector’s conversion brought Leinster’s advantage to 7-33, although the second half was considerably closer.
Stephen Kiely, a debutant for Munster, did manage to score a well-executed try in response, but it was too little, too late as Leinster went on to win. Munster rugby game on TV – Fixtures and Stream Today

Kieran Ryan, Evan O’Connell, Shay McCarthy and Stephen Kiely made their senior Munster debuts.
Stephen Kiely scored a try on his debut in the second-half.

Leinster were offside from their own clearing kick when Munster kicked off into the Sunday’s Well end, and they soon won a penalty. After two minutes of play, Scott Buckley crossed for the game’s first try after Tony Butler placed the ball into the corner.
Munster started up with a 7-0 lead as Butler successfully converted from the touchline.
Leinster received a lineout more than 10 meters away from the Munster line as a result of many penalty concessions from Munster. While Leinster made progress through the stages before Jason Jenkins crashed over for a score, Munster did well to halt the maul. With a little under 10 minutes remaining, Ciarán Frawley scored a conversion to tie the score.
