Catch the Fiji Water Flying Fijians take on their Pacific brothers from Tonga. The match is part of their July Test Series and in preparation for the 2023 Rugby World Cup. The Fiji national team, which consists of 18 of the team’s 39 players, has benefited from the Fijian Drua’s successful Super Rugby Pacific season.
Prior to their first Test of 2023 against Tonga on July 22, head coach Simon Raiwalui picked the squad, which was cut from a larger 45-player training squad.
“We couldn’t finalize the squad until all club obligations were fulfilled. A few injuries raised questions, and this was taken into consideration while choosing the squad, Raiwalui stated.
“Our medical staff will supervise prop Haereiti Hetet and utility forward Joseva Tamani from outside the group as they continue to recover from injuries.
