The World Rugby Women’s Rankings as of October 14 were used to divide the 16 qualified teams into four bands prior to the draw. The top four teams in Band 1—England, Canada, New Zealand, and France—prepopulated the first spot in each pool.

In Pool A, hosts and presently top-ranked side in the Rugby World Cup Women’s Rankings, England, are paired with Australia, the United States, and Samoa. Canada, ranked second in the world, will play Scotland, Wales, and Fiji in Pool B.

In Pool C, reigning champions New Zealand are joined by Spain, Japan, and Ireland.

The Draw was broadcast live in the centre of London’s broadcasting district on The One Show, one of the BBC’s most popular shows. The teams were drawn into four pools, which were independently monitored by PWC, by BBC Sport’s Gabby Logan, Maggie Alphonsi, the winner of the 2014 Women’s Rugby World Cup for England, and presenter Roman Kemp.

With the tournament website releasing the fixtures on Tuesday, October 22, the countdown is officially underway for supporters making travel plans to the Women’s Rugby World Cup.

The World Rugby Women’s Rankings as of October 14 were used to divide the 16 qualified teams into four bands prior to the draw. The top four teams in Band 1 (England, Canada, New Zealand, and France) were prepopulated into the first position of each band.

With 60% of tickets priced under £25, and 95% of the population in England living within two hours of one of the eight legendary match locations, England 2025 will be the most accessible Women’s Rugby World Cup ever, bringing supporters together for what promises to be a generational milestone for the sport.

During the first wave of ticket sales, almost 60,000 tickets were purchased by supporters for England’s opening encounter in Sunderland and the final matches at Twickenham, setting records for both time and volume.

Fans can apply for tickets for all matches from 11:00 GMT on Tuesday, November 5 to 11:00 GMT on Tuesday, November 19, with England’s final two pool matches taking place in Northampton and Brighton and Hove.

“With excitement building among fans and teams for next year’s showpiece event, today marks an important step forward to what will be an unmissable tournament,” stated Sarah Massey, managing director of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.
