For this Friday night’s historic Harvey Norman Super Rugby Pacific Round 8 matchup against Moana Pasifika in Samoa, the Queensland Reds have released their matchday-23.
In preparation for hosting Moana Pasifika for the first time at Apia Park in Samoa, head coach Brad Thorn has made seven adjustments to his starting lineup.

With captain Liam Wright out with a hand injury, Jake Upfield will make his Queensland and Super Rugby Pacific debut at blindside flanker. James O’Connor will take Isaac Henry’s place at inside center, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Jordan Petaia celebrates his 50th Queensland and Super Rugby appearance, and Suliasi Vunivalu, Sef Fa’agase, and Zane Nonggorr all return to the starting lineup as wings.
On Friday, the Reds will try to end a three-game losing run with a new-look lock combination consisting of Connor Vest and Ryan Smith.
Queensland will take on Moana Pasifika at 2:05pm AEST on Friday.

In what is sure to be a game for the ages, Moana Pasifika will take on the Queensland Reds at Apia Field on Friday, April 14, in what will be their historic maiden home game in Samoa.
Due to the talent displayed by both sides this season, both teams will be desperate to win this Super Rugby Pacific matchup in Round Eight.
Last week, Moana Pasifika defeated a well-organized Crusaders team and led 21-17 at the break. The Crusaders made a comeback in the second half, and the final score of 38-21 didn’t accurately capture the hard-fought game that took place at Orangetheory Stadium.
With their victory over the reigning champions, Moana Pasifika may enter their game against the Reds with a lot of confidence.
