Springboks’ 2024 home Test schedule

Saturday, 6 July: SA vs Ireland (Loftus Versfeld, Pretoria)
Saturday, 13 July: SA vs Ireland (Hollywoodbets Kings Park, Durban)
Saturday, 20 July: SA vs Portugal (Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein)
Saturday, 31 August: Boks vs All Blacks (Emirates Airline Park, Johannesburg)
Saturday, 7 September: Boks vs All Blacks (DHL Stadium, Cape Town)
Saturday, 28 September: SA vs Argentina (Mbombela Stadium, Nelspruit)

Old rivals New Zealand, currently rated third in the world, return for Test matches in Johannesburg and Cape Town, while the season is ignited in spectacular manner in Pretoria and Durban by the growing rivalry with Ireland, currently ranked second in the world.

The final Test match of the Boks’ July schedule is against Portugal, an up-and-coming country. Bloemfontein has been confirmed as the venue for South Africa’s inaugural international match against Os Lobos, also known as the Wolves.

When the Springboks play Ireland at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria, they will have resumed play after a 252-day break. A week later, the teams reunite at Hollywoodbets Kings Park for the first time in eight years when the defending Six Nations winners travel to South Africa.

The Springboks prevailed 2-1 in the 2016 series, but Ireland has since won all three encounters (and five of the previous seven) between the two sides, most recently in a 13-8 triumph in Marseille during the Rugby World Cup pool stages.

One week later, on July 20, the Springboks will play their first Test match against Portugal. Portugal made an impression in the Rugby World Cup by drawing with Georgia in an exciting match and then defeating Fiji 24-23 in their last pool match.

As part of the Castle Lager Rugby Championship, fellow RWC finalists New Zealand will make a return in August and September for a two-Test series. For the first time since 2009, the Springboks will be looking to defeat the All Blacks three times in a row when they play on August 31 at Johannesburg’s Emirates Airline Stadium.

After one week, the All Blacks will play their first-ever game at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town. The Boks defeated the teams 25–24 at Newlands during their most recent game in the Mother City in 2017.

The final home Test match of the season between the Boks and Argentina’s Pumas takes place at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, the Lowveld location. They had a perfect record on the outskirts of Nelspruit, having defeated Scotland, Wales, and New Zealand in their previous visits. They defeated the Pumas 30-23 at the ground in 2016.

In August, the Springboks play two away Test matches against the Wallabies in Australia. In September, they play an away encounter against Argentina in the Castle Lager Rugby Championship. throughout November 2024, they play matches throughout Europe.
