A big opportunity’ for the home team, according to assistant coach Dave Dillon, was presented by the game. I would like to think that we receive the support because the entire region enjoys these games. It’s a derby game, and we proved last time out against the Hurricanes that we were competitive for significant stretches of the game. We’ll be getting our hands dirty and eager to play the Chiefs down here.

Anton Lienert-Brown, who had an ankle injury in round one of the Super Rugby tournament, returns for the match and will participate in his 100th game for the Chiefs for the Waikato-based squad. Clayton McMillan, the head coach of the Chiefs, praised Lienert-Brown for his accomplishment.

It’s a wonderful accomplishment that is well-deserved. We hope that we can deliver a collective effort worthy of the man and the occasion because Anton sets the bar for our team in terms of work rate, passion, and competitiveness.

McMillan says the opening game of round three against the Highlanders had already been a spirited contest.

We anticipate them to present a strong challenge inside the Dunedin roof. They have our entire respect and attention because they haven’t been far off in their recent performances, and with the potential addition of a few key players, they will be prepared.

Aidan Ross, Samisoni Taukei’aho, and George Dyer are once again in the first row for the Chiefs on Friday.

Lock Josh Lord will have an impact off the bench in addition to Naitoa Ah Kuoi and Tupou Vaa’i in the starting lineup. Pita Along with Sam Cane and Luke Jacobson, Gus Sowakula also makes a move to start in the loose forward position this week.

Damian McKenzie, whose contract with the Chiefs was recently extended, will start at first five-eighths as Brad Weber switches back to halfback. Peniasi Malimali, a rookie, is given his first opportunity to start on the wing, with Emoni Narawa taking the other slot.

Shaun Stevenson commands at full-back, and Daniel Rona transitions back to the center position. Support will come from the bench in the form of Kaylum Boshier for the loose forwards as well as the strong front row combo of Bradley Slater, Ollie Norris, and John Ryan.
