“We’re expecting more of the same this year,” stated SA Rugby CEO Rian Oberholzer, “as the tournament was an unforgettable experience last year.” We witnessed how evenly matched the four SANZAAR sides were in the recent U20 Rugby Championship, and England prevailed in the U20 Six Nations.

It is an enormous honor to have the next generation of superstars visit South Africa next month, and we are looking forward to meeting their families, friends, and fans. News for The Daily Rugby

We are thrilled to discover the next generation of Springboks, and the World Rugby U20 Championship is crucial in promoting and growing the game in the global rugby landscape.

The three new legal reforms that have been put in place to improve player welfare and encourage ball in flow and diversity of attacking possibilities will be seen for the first time in an international tournament in the World Rugby U20 Championship 2024.

These are the following scrums will no longer be an option following free kicks the crocodile roll is outlawed players will no longer be deemed onside when an opponent gets the ball from a kick in open play and sprints five meters players must attempt to retreat.

The World Rugby Executive Board has accepted a streamlined red card penalty process, which is part of a package of six legal proceedings that will be implemented.
