The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side lost to Australia 24-7 in the second semi final of the Cape Town 7s.
Cape Town 7s: Australia vs Fiji in the semis final .In an exciting quarterfinal of the Cape Town sevens , the men’s 7s team from Fiji Airway exacted revenge on France, winning 29-24.
Speedster Vuiviawa Naduvalo scored two tries to help Fiji get off to a solid start following their previous pool stage setback to France. Sevuloni Mocenacagi and Kaminieli Rasaku scored the remaining tries for Fiji, tying the score at 24 all at the end of regulation and forcing a sudden death scrum.
Australia vs Fiji Cape Town 7s Semi Finals
Fiji will now face Australia in the semi-final at 1:18am tomorrow after the men in green and gold thumped hosts South Africa 28-0 in their quarter-final clash.
Argentina will face Ireland in the first semi-final at 12:56am.
NZ and South Africa bow out of Men’s Cup Quarter Finals
After defeating France 29–24 in the most recent quarterfinal, the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team advanced to the Cape Town 7s semifinals.
Vuiviawa Naduvalo and Sevuloni Mocenacagi scored two fast tries to give Fiji a commanding early advantage. After that, Naduvalo crossed the line for his second try, which put Fiji ahead 16-0. After two tries, France battled back to trail 14–17 at the half.
In the second half, France came out swinging, scoring two tries to take a 24–17 lead. In the last few minutes of the game, Kaminieli Rasaku broke through the French defense to score a try and send the game into sudden death.
During sudden death, two French players committed sins, giving Fiji the advantage.
