2022 NRL Roosters vs Sea Eagles will take place at Sydney Cricket Ground

Roosters vs Sea Eagles

Sydney Roosters produced a woeful performance in their opening game of the season as they were beaten by Newcastle Knights in a boilover and the Tricolours will be under pressure to put that woeful effort behind them.

The Roosters were below par across the board in the loss in their season opener but head coach Trent Robinson has named the same side as last week as he aims to get a response from his side in what should be a tough encounter.

Manly Sea Eagles failed to get going in their way with defending premiers Penrith Panthers last week as they produced an underwhelming display which saw them succumb to a straightforward loss.

The Sea Eagles were bullied through the middle and that prevented the likes of Tom Trbojevic and Daly Cherry-Evans from working their magic with the ball but they will be out to right the wrongs of that display here and are boosted by the return of utility Dylan Walker among the interchanges.

Sydney Roosters and Manly Sea Eagles both failed to fire in round one and will have had to do some soul-searching this week. There will not be too much panic amongst either club but the manner of their respective losses will have been a concern nonetheless. The Roosters in particular will be desperate to bounce back having gone down to a side that they would have fancied their chances against but this will not be easy for them and the Sea Eagles are the slight preference with a +2 start having demolished their opponents in their clash in last year’s finals.
